Ok this happened a week ago, but I was out doing my lunch ride, and as I was pushing my bike back to my car, right in front of me was a man, bent forward (he might be stretching?). It wasn't his bending forward that bothered me, but his butt cheeks that were exposed as a result of it. His shorts were ripped right in the middle, and there was no underwear. I debated on whether to tell him about it, but just can't think of how to put it in a nice way, so I just continued walking back to my car.

What would you have done?

After watching Tour de France, I sort of developed a tiny crush on two of the riders - Tom Boonen and Alberto Contador. One is a great sprinter, and the other made history by winning the Tour. Great guys. They are definitely the new breed of young riders to look out for in pro cycling. Let's hope they don't get influenced by all the doping that's going on in the sport. Oh, and did I mention they are both absolutely gorgeous?

I ventured to the Sawyer Camp Trail this afternoon. This trail is different from the on at Foster City, its more twisty, less flat, and has a pretty steep incline towards the end on the north. I was still nervous when stopping, but today was a good day - I didn't fall!

I woke up with stiff legs today. My bruises are sore and my leg muscles don't feel 100%. So I decided to give my body a rest today to heal up before doing more cycling.

So, I've been getting my Tour de France fix through Twitter and the daily video highlights on Versus in the evening. So far, it seems that Cancellara is doing really well. Gotta say I haven't heard of him before the race, but I'll bet he's getting some good publicity after two wins, and first wearer of the yellow jersey. However, I think the GC contenders are saving their legs for the more critical stages, trying to stay safe, and collecting the points, so Cancellara should cherish his yellow jersey, coz I'm pretty sure he will lose it as the tour progresses. But who knows, he could just be the underdog to win the tour.

This afternoon I experienced the low speed clipless pedal fall - TWICE! I was having trouble clipping in my right pedal, and I think I pressed in too hard, then as I started to lift my butt onto the seat, somehow it didn't quite land on my saddle, and the saddle pushed me forward as I tried to get my balance. Next thing I knew, I was laying on my side, with my bike stuck to my right leg. Oh the embarrassment. Then along the ride I dodged a few squirrels, calling out "on your left" to people with earphones on, and when I got back, I unclipped my left shoe, slowed to a stop, and I don't know, it might be the momentum, or my weak legs, I tripped and fell to my side again, same thing, bike stuck to right foot. Argh. It was harder clip out this time, I had to sit on the ground an move my bike over to my left to unclip my right leg, only then I could get up.

Now I have some bruises on my thigh, and scrapes on my knee. What a way to start the week!

Just got back from the LBS. I wanna say "two thumbs up" to my shop, GoRide Bicycles, at Redwood City, CA. If you ever want to buy a bike and live in the peninsula Bay Area, do check them out. Bob, the owner, was really patient with me today (not that it was busy, but still!), while I tried on various shoes, and asking a bunch of silly questions. When I settled on a pair, he helped me attach the cleats, and gave this clipless pedal newbie some tips on getting in and out of my pedals. He also inverted my handlebar stem so that now I have a nice little drop on my bike. I can't wait to try out my shoes and pedals this evening.
